On this project I did something that I normally do not do for the fact that I did not have the normal materials that I would use. The card board material depicts six cartoon characters that I enjoyed as a kid growing up. I got this idea from looking at a piece called "Dogs Playing Poker" by the artist Cassius Marcellus Coolidge. After I completed drawing the characters with pencil on the card board I then traced it with a black fine point ink pen, and then colored in the characters with colored pencil. I then grasped the back and placed it on a black canvas. I wanted to incorporate playing cards into my work so I decided to to gessoed the back of the cards and placed them around the drawing to somewhat frame it.
